There will be no changes to programs and services, and both the Acclaim Health and S.E.N.A.C.A. Adult Day Programs will continue to operate normally.
The merger will allow Wendy McBride, long time Executive Director of S.E.N.A.C.A., to retire in March 2020. “Building relationships with our clients and families over the last 30 years has been so meaningful to me. It’s felt like a family,” says Wendy. “I know that Acclaim Health will continue that warm, caring atmosphere for our clients, volunteers and staff.”
Once the merger is complete, leadership of the S.E.N.A.C.A. programs will transfer to Renita Wood from Acclaim Health. Both organizations are committed to a smooth transition for clients, caregivers, staff members and volunteers. “I look forward to meeting S.E.N.A.C.A. clients and working with the amazing team at S.E.N.A.C.A. over the next few months,” says Renita Wood.
Eventually, the goal is to move one of S.E.N.A.C.A.’s Oakville Adult Day Programs into Acclaim Health’s new building at 2250 Speers Road, but this is dependent on raising the $500,000 required to properly outfit the space. Donate here to help make it happen!
We are very excited about the future. This creates wonderful opportunities to better integrate client care, and will create an organization that is better positioned to advocate for and support the needs of our community.
S.E.N.A.C.A. is a non-profit charitable organization supporting individuals and families in their caregiving roles within the community. They provide adult respite services focusing on nurturing activities, personal achievement, companionship and wellness and operate three locations: Bond Street (Oakville), Palermo (Oakville) and Coptic (Mississauga).
