Help Protect Our Clients

 

These are unprecedented times. Acclaim Health is now on the front lines fighting COVID-19. Our Nurses and Personal Support Workers are providing care to some of the most vulnerable community members in Halton.

From older adults facing a life-limiting illness, to those relying on daily care to survive, to people dying at home, the 19,000 clients we serve annually are depending on us to safeguard their health and wellbeing. Every day I talk to people who are scared.

We are facing an extremely challenging situation. The majority of our clients are older adults who are at higher risk for more serious complications from COVID-19. Our best hope to keep them protected from the virus while providing care is the using the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) like masks, gloves, gowns and hand sanitizer.

PPE is our biggest pain point. We have very little left. We are doing everything we can to purchase as much as possible but with provincial shortages, it is difficult to source and the prices are increasing. These exceptional costs are outside of our normal expenses. Staff from across the organization have been coming into the office to package PPE for our front line workers.

You can help. Help us purchase PPE to ensure our staff continue providing essential care to our clients. Without PPE we can’t continue our care, without this care, the consequences could be dire.
