Thrive – Spotlight on Counselling

Whether you are an individual, a couple, or a family struggling with a problem, Thrive’s highly trained counsellors can help. Being sensitive to your individual and family values and goals, we will work with you to build upon your strengths in order to meet the challenges of life, and to use these as opportunities for growth and change.

Our services are available to residents of Halton Region who need assistance in coping with life’s challenges. In order to reach as many people as possible, we offer appointments days, evenings and Saturdays and have locations across the Region: Burlington, Georgetown, Milton and Oakville. We are a non-profit organization and our fees are geared to income and take into account family size. We currently have counselling available in English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Arabic, Romanian, Pashto and Dari. All counselling is strictly confidential.

Thrive also offers a Walk-In Counselling Clinic that offers prompt service to Halton residents wishing to access a focused conversation to address an issue of concern. Single-session counselling can provide you with the emotional support, feedback and ideas on how to make positive changes in your life. Each visit is treated like a distinct counselling session with no expectation that you come back for a subsequent session.

For many people, a single session with a counsellor is enough to take a positive first step, and our highly trained counsellors can help.

No appointment is needed and there is no fee for Walk-In service. People are seen on a first come, first served basis and we strive to offer service to everyone attending at our clinic.

People attending Walk-In can be referred into Thrive’s other counselling programs and services or to other community services. Walk-In services are separate and attending Walk–In does not affect your placement into other services.
