We are currently looking for candidates that have expertise in the following area(s):

  • Accounting (a recognized professional designation required)
  • Human resources (pension and benefits knowledge an asset)
  • Lived experience as an Acclaim Health client or caregiver
  • Must reside in one of the following communities: Milton, Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills, Mississauga

Board members’ primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing the organization’s vision, mission, overall strategy and monitoring progress against these goals
  • Overseeing compliance
  • Managing and providing guidance to the Chief Executive Officer (who is responsible for operations)
  • Monitoring financial controls and results
  • Supporting the philanthropic activities of the organization
  • Advocating on behalf of the organization
  • Acting as a ambassador for the organization in the community

Commitment

The Board meets 9 times a year, primarily on Tuesday evenings, as well as participates in the Annual Meeting.  Meetings take place remotely or in person at our main office located at 2370 Speers Road, Oakville.  Each board member term is three (3) years.
